Jesus calls His disciples by name and sends them on an extraordinary mission—but He also teaches them that the mission cannot depend on their own strength. They are called to go out vulnerable, humble, and willing to surrender control so that God can work through them. This homily reminds us that following Jesus is not about making everything look like us or relying on our own abilities. St. Benedict began as one man seeking God in solitude, yet his complete surrender would influence Christianity and society for centuries.
